Swedish massage can relax or energize the body. Using a blend of techniques your therapist will design a unique treatment for you to suit your goals whether you seek calm and relaxation or you need deep tissue rehabilatory massage. Deep tissue massage can treat common conditions such as tendonitis, muscular pain and is excellent in rehabilitation.

Using a blend of subtle Swedish techniques can relax your muscles, increase your circulation and relax your nervous system. Your therapist will conduct a health history interview with you to design the most suitable treatment for you. Pressure can range from mild pressure to deep pressure depending on your goals for your treatment.

Hot Stone Massage uses water-heated stones to apply pressure and heat to the body. Hot stone massage is proven to be safe and effective in treating a wide variety of conditions, including pain associated with fibromyalgia, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other chronic musculoskeletal conditions, pain and tension resulting from strained muscles, muscle spasms and chronic stress, while increasing joint flexibility.

The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which improves circulation and "energy flow" throughout the body, aiding in detoxification, stimulating our immune system and improving digestion. Your RMT will use a combination of Swedish massage and Hot Stone massage to reduce muscle tension and relax the mind.

You will be draped with a sheet and only the body part that is being worked will be exposed. Our RMTs are experienced in pre natal massage, labour support massage and post natal massage.

Our Cranial sacral therapist uses a soft touch, to release restrictions in the Cranial sacral system, improving the functioning of the central nervous system.

By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.  By using the hands as tools, Cranial sacral therapists are able to gently detect disturbances to identify areas of dysfunction and restrictions.

How a treatment helps:

  • Restores normal mobility in the bones of the head
  • Releases abnormal soft tissue restrictions and tensions in the body
  • Releases abnormal restrictions in the head
  • Eases restrictions of nerves
  • Optimizes fluid movement through the central nervous system
  • Restores misaligned bones to their proper positions (assisting in troubles with back, hips, shoulders and knees)

Shirodhara is the art of Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, and is the pouring of a thin, steady stream of warm, herb-infused oil onto the centre of the forehead, on the third eye or chakra point just above and between the eyebrows. It induces a deep state of relaxation, soothes the nervous system, stimulates the endocrine system [pituitary gland] and awakens the third eye. The therapist will first perform a gentle full body scrub massage to relax and prepare you and then gently begin to massage your forehead in preparation before applying a gentle, soothing, warm stream of oils.

Shirodhara has been used to treat a variety of conditions including sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, neurological disorders, memory loss, insomnia, hearing impairment, tinnitus, vertigo, Meniere’s disease and certain types of skin diseases like psoriasis. It is also used non-medicinally at spas for its relaxing properties. Studies report that Ayurvedic Shirodhara is a safe option to improve sleep quality among people who have sleep problems. Shirodhara is also effective in treating mental conditions such as anxiety, and mental stress.

Shirodhara may begin with a full body massage known as Abhyangam. Shirodhara also involves a head massage. Shirodhara is thought to work by relaxing the hypothalamus in the brain. It can also normalize the functions of hormones that regulate sleep and emotions.

Several of our clients have said they felt like they went to another place during the massage – similar to the feeling of meditation.

Traditional Thai massage is a wonderfully energising and balancing treatment. It is an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures.

Traditional Thai massage uses no oils or lotions. The recipient remains clothed during a treatment. There is constant body contact between the therapist and client, but rather than rubbing on muscles, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked. The recipient wears loose, comfortable clothing and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor.

The massage generally follows designated lines ("sen") in the body, working on the meridian (energy) lines within the body. When you become ill, the flow of energy around the body has become blocked or is not flowing as freely as it should. When you have a Thai massage it encourages the flow of energy, bringing harmony and balance to the body. There is a standard procedure and rhythm to the massage, which the giver will adjust to fit the receiver. Palm and thumb presses along the energy lines are usually first, which warms the muscles and increases blood flow. This is followed by working around the joints, releasing tension and encouraging movement, before stretching of the limbs. Through working on the meridian lines and joints, it warms up the body physically and emotionally enabling maximum benefit from the stretching.

The therapist uses their body weight to release stress and tension from within the muscles. Thai massage can increase circulation, give relief from pain, provide a sense of well-being, and promote relaxation as well as release muscular tension, increase flexibility and mobility of joints and improve breathing. The techniques used can also help to boost the immune system and promote mental clarity.

One of the largest primary care professions in Ontario, chiropractic is an evidence-informed, non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors practice primarily using their hands, providing diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints.

Chiropractors use a combination of treatments, depending on the specific needs of the individual patient. After taking a history, performing an examination and establishing a diagnosis, a chiropractor can develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment/management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies.

One of the most common therapies a chiropractor uses is spinal manipulative therapy (SMT), which can comprise a variety of adjustment techniques. Specific training in SMT allows chiropractors to provide highly-skilled and precise adjustments to the vertebrae of the spine, correcting joint motion to restore proper movement and improve function.

For many conditions, such as low back pain, chiropractic care is the primary method of treatment. When a multi-disciplinary approach is advisable, a chiropractor will coordinate care with other health care professionals. Where other conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical or other treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition.

There are many reasons to seek chiropractic care:

  • Back pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Headache
  • Whiplash
  • Strains and sprains
  • Repetitive strain injury (RSI)
  • Work and sports injuries
  • Arthritis
  • Limited range of motion in the back, shoulder, neck or limbs

Reflexology is a form of bodywork that involves applying pressure to the hands and feet to produce changes in pain and other benefits elsewhere in the body.

How Does Reflexology Work?

The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are certain points or "reflex areas" on the feet and hands that are connected energetically to specific organs and body parts through energy channels in the body. By applying pressure to reflex areas, a reflexologist is said to remove energy blockages and promote health in the related body area.

Here are some examples of reflex areas and their corresponding body parts:

  • The tips of the toes reflect the head
  • The heart and chest are around the ball of the foot
  • The liver, pancreas, and kidney are in the arch of the foot
  • Low back and intestines are towards the heel

According to reflexologists, pressure on the reflex points also helps to balance the nervous system and stimulates the release of endorphins that help to reduce pain and stress.

What is microblading?

Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a manual method of enhancing and redefining of the eyebrows. It is a semi permanent procedure that is completed by using very fine blades to deposit pigment into the epidermis layer of the skin.  It is most popular to those who have very fine, little or no eyebrows, and also to those who'd like to add fullness to the eyebrows by filling empty spaces within, or to reshape and give the face a fresh look.

Does it hurt?

Some people may experience a minimal amount of pain during the procedure. Topical Anesthetics will help numb the skin to minimize pain.

How long is the recovery?

Every skin type varies, some people will only notice a minimal amount of redness and most will be able to continue with their usual daily activities. However, giving 7-10 days of healing time and proper care is necessary for better results.  The pigment will be noticeably darker when first applied, but this is only temporary and will fade to it's beautiful complimenting colour to match your natural hair pigment.

How long does the procedure take?

Typically 1.5 to 2.5 hours

How long will they last for?

After the necessary first touch up (4-8 weeks after the initial session they should last anywhere from 1-3 years depending on your skin type when they will begin to gently fade.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are minimal however, it is common for some to experience slight swelling and redness during the procedure. Scabbing and itchiness is common couple of days after the procedure- as it is the natural healing process of the skin. Proper care is very essential for a faster and healthier recovery for the skin.

In microdermabrasion, tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin, or a diamond-exfoliating tip is massaged over the face and then suctioned to gently remove the outer layer of your skin. Microdermabrasion is a painless exfoliation and skin rejuvenation procedure that leaves skin looking softer and brighter for days.

During your microderm treatment you will receive neck shoulder and scalp massage along with a gentle facial cleanse and moisture massage coupled with hot towels and aromatherapy making this treatment a truly unique treat. Microdermabrasion is recommended to be used monthly but can also make a lovely occasional skin care treat or a great gift.

  • Microdermabrasion is a skin care treatment used to reduce fine lines, rejuvenate skin, clear clogged pores, and leave you with smoother, bright, healthy skin. It works by exfoliating and removing dead cells from the surface of the skin.
  • Microdermabrasion is done with a machine that exfoliates and removes through suction, the outer layer of skin cells, typically with a diamond tipped hand piece or using a spray of diamond crystals gently applied to the skin then suctioned.
  • Microdermabrasion is a gentle anti aging exfoliating facial treatment that leaves your skin soft, glowing, moisturized and fresh. Microdermabrasion can also be a great skin care option for acne prone skin that is sensitive to acne products.
